La salmantina Isabel de Ocampo retoma parte de las inquietudes que la llevaron a realizar Miente (corto con el que ganó un Goya en 2009) para afrontar el reto que supone dirigir una película. Así, en Evelyn la directora aborda la trata de personas desde el thriller psicológico pero sin perder de vista la denuncia de una situación que afecta a muchas mujeres en el mundo.
