A finales de julio se destapó la noticia de que Kristen Stewart, que en aquel entonces mantenía una relación romántica con el también actor Robert Pattinson, había engañado a su pareja con el director de Blancanieves y la Leyenda del Cazador: Ruper Sanders. Desde entonces Stewart ha tratado de esquivar el circo mediático montado alrededor del triángulo amoroso. Este es el motivo de que no haya estado presente en la alfombra roja de su último trabajo (On the Road) y, al parecer, también podría ser esta la razón de que haya decidido desvincularse de Cali, el filme independiente de Nick Cassavetes (Alpha Dog) cuya sinopsis pasamos a describir:

 

Mya (Stewart) es una de las mitades de una pareja de estafadores de Los Angeles que buscan dar el golpe de sus vidas. Su plan es sencillo, pero retorcido: deciden grabar una snuff movie (cinta en la que se graba un asesinato real) en la que Mya será la malograda estrella. En última instancia, la película está destinada a engañar a una importante entidad bancaria, aunque los forzará a fingir sus muertes y abandonar la ciudad. Sorprendentemente su plan funciona, el problema llega cuando la hermana pequeña de Mya (que se quedó en la ciudad) necesita de su ayuda. Ahora, Mya y su novio, Chris (Alex Pettyfer), deben volver a California para plantarle cara a furiosos ex-compañeros de negocio, estrellas del porno homicidas, un veterinario fumado y a una imparable máquina de matar con sombrero de vaquero. Todo ello mientras afrontan sus primeros problemas como pareja.

 

Ahora IndieWire se hace eco de unos rumores que situarían a Amber Heard (Zombieland) como la más probable sustituta para la actriz californiana.
