En 2001 y tras superar un casting con tan sólo 9 años, Emma Watson entró en el mundo del cine de la mano de una de las sagas más rentables de todos los tiempos. Durante todo este tiempo la actriz no ha hecho prácticamente nada fuera del mundo de Harry Potter (apenas una TV movie titulada Ballet Shoes o prestar su voz para la película de animación El Valiente Despereaux). Ahora, a punto de cumplir los 20, Watson busca hacerse un hueco en la meca del cine con dos proyectos que saldrán en un futuro próximo, tal y como nos cuentan desde The Hollywood Reporter.

 

El primero de ellos se titula My Week with Marilyn y se trata del relato que hace uno de los empleados de Sir Lawrence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh) sobre la tensa relación entre éste y la estrella, interpretada por Michelle Williams (Shutter Island, Brokeback Mountain), durante el rodaje de El Príncipe y la Corista. Watson interpretará el papel de Lucy, una asistente de vestuario. La película llegará a las salas estadounidenses el 4 de Noviembre y será dirigida por Simon Curtis (director curtido en el mundo de las TV movies).

 

El segundo proyecto llegará en 2012 bajo el título de The Perks of Being a Wallflower (Las ventajas de ser un alhelí) y cuenta la historia de un estudiante novato e introvertido llamado Charlie e interpretado por Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson y el Ladrón del Rayo) que es introducido por sus amigos Sam (Watson) y Patrick en el mundo del sexo, las drogas y las relaciones complicadas. El filme será dirigido y guionizado por Stephen Chbosky (guionista de la serie Jericó).
