Desarrollado por Baby Robot Games y editado por Selecta Play, Ereban: Shadow Legacy es una propuesta con acento español que podemos etiquetar como una aventura de sigilo en el que nos ponemos en la piel de Ayana, la última descendiente de una raza olvidada con la inusitada habilidad de sumergirse en las sombras -de una forma más literal de la que creéis. Para evitar destripes y que os hagáis una somera aproximación, pensad en lo que hacía Aragami de Lince Works, pero cambiando el contexto del medievo japonés por una ciencia ficción de corte fantástica y dando un mayor peso al plataformeo en lugar de la acción.

 

 

Habrá a quienes os resulte familiar el juego, puesto que se lanzó oficialmente en 2024 en PC (Steam), pero es ahora cuando ha dado el salto a Xbox Series y PlayStation 5, siendo en esta última donde nosotros hemos tenido la oportunidad de experimentar lo que nos tiene que ofrecer la gente de Baby Robot Games a lo largo de las casi siete horas que nos ha llevado completar su campaña. ¿Siete horas? Seguramente veréis gameplays y análisis que hablan de cinco o seis horas de media, pero a los mandos somos la viva imagen de este meme protagonizado por Jack Sparrow.

 

 

Así que sí, completamos la partida en modo fácil (tenéis también el normal o «por defecto» y el difícil [además del extremo una vez completada la partida por primera vez]). En este sentido, además, Ereban cuenta con interesantes opciones de accesibilidad como la posibilidad de agrandar los subtítulos (esto tendría que ser obligado en todos los juegos) y añadir o reducir las guías durante la partida. Eso sí, si optáis por el modo fácil, no podréis optar a conseguir determinadas medallas por objetivos cumplidos en cada capítulo. Estas están bloqueadas para los niveles normal y difícil.

 

En total la aventura se divide en ocho capítulos en los que descubrimos la historia a través de pequeñas cinemáticas y de documentos desperdigados aquí y allá. La historia es atractiva y presenta un interesante dilema, aunque el argumento de Ereban, funcional y sin descuidar los tropos comunes del género, no es su gran fuerte.

 

 

El principal reclamo del juego radica en su propuesta jugable (que al final es lo más importante en este tipo de aventuras). El uso de las sombras es variado y divertido, con algunas soluciones realmente inspiradas, como la de desplazarnos entre plataformas usando sombras en movimiento. Lo mismo se puede decir de los diferentes gadgets que vamos obteniendo a lo largo de la partida, que van desde un señuelo o un radar para localizar a los enemigos, a unos prismáticos para aprender sus patrones desde lejos.

 

Hay una importante variedad de recursos y acciones que ofrecen una estimable flexibilidad a la hora de abordar cada reto. De ahí la existencia de las medallas de las que hablábamos antes, pues podemos pasarnos un mismo capítulo de varias formas (como derrotando a todos los enemigos o sorteándolos sin liquidarlos). Aspecto que, de cara a quienes seáis completistas, ofrece una enorme rejugabilidad.
