Ambientada a principios del siglo XIX, Bajo el mismo sol se presenta como un drama de aventuras en el que tres personajes desarraigados de sus respectivas patrias intentan encontrar un espacio común en el que construir(se). Aprovechando su estreno en cines charlamos con uno de sus protagonistas, David Castillo, y con su director, Ulises Porra, tanto sobre las complejidades del rodaje, como de los temas más importantes que toca el filme.

 

 

Sinopsis: 1819. Un joven heredero español, una tejedora china y un desertor haitiano luchan por encontrar su lugar y su humanidad en el tenso cruce de culturas del caribe colonial, mientras se embarcan en la ambiciosa empresa de establecer una fábrica de seda en pleno corazón de la isla La Española.

 

 

Presentada dentro de la sección Centerpiece del Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto (TIFF) y premiada por el Festival Biarritz Amérique Latine —donde se alzó con el Premio del Jurado, el Premio de los Biarritz y el Premio del Sindicato Francés de la Crítica de Cine—, Bajo el mismo sol puede verse en cines de toda España desde el 19 de junio.
