Protagonizada por Jessica Chastain e Isaac Hernández, Dreams, la nueva película de Michel Franco, se presenta como un drama romántico (con algunas notas de thriller) sobre las dinámicas de poder, con la tensa relación entre Estados Unidos y México como metáfora y telón de fondo. El cineasta juega a confrontar al público con sus expectativas en un áspero relato en el que la relación de sus protagonistas se mueve entre el deseo, la obsesión y el control.

 

En esta entrevista Michel Franco nos habla acerca del tono del filme, así como de ese juego con las expectativas y la conversación con el espectador.

 

 

Sinopsis: Fernando (Isaac Hernández), un joven bailarín de ballet mexicano, sueña con el reconocimiento internacional y una vida en Estados Unidos. Creyendo que le apoyará su amante Jennifer (Jessica Chastain), una filántropa de la alta sociedad, lo deja todo atrás. Sin embargo, ella hará lo que sea para proteger el futuro de ambos y la vida que ha construido.
