El equivalente en videojuegos a Eurovisión llegará en 2023, con el primer evento Games Made in Europe. En 2022, la asociación Capital Games, con sede en París (Francia), reunió a más de un millón de personas en el evento Games Made in France. Este año, suben el listón y reúnen a asociaciones profesionales de videojuegos de toda Europa (EGDF, DGA, WALGA, DEV, IIDEA, FLEGA, Game Habitat, Indie Games Poland Foundation), con el apoyo MEDIA del Programa Europa Creativa de la Unión Europea, para poner en marcha Games Made in Europe, del 24 al 28 de mayo.

 

 

El programa incluirá presentaciones de los mejores juegos creados en Europa durante cuatro días de retransmisiones en directo en Twitch, a cargo de streamers del sector. Los juegos presentados se beneficiarán de promociones en Steam, y el evento incluirá un programa de conferencias, formación y networking.

 

«El principal objetivo de Games Made in Europe es promover el talento europeo, mostrando la creatividad única de los mejores estudios de Europa, ya sean grandes o pequeños, famosos o desconocidos. Como organización sin ánimo de lucro, nuestro objetivo es que el evento sea accesible al mayor número posible de talentos, por lo que las cuotas de inscripción se han reducido al mínimo en comparación con los estándares del mercado, al tiempo que nos permiten cubrir los costes del evento. Las asociaciones profesionales de videojuegos también pueden presentar proyectos de grupo para garantizar una mayor diversidad de juegos«, explica Cyrille Imbert, presidente de Capital Games.

 

Se espera que en Games Made in Europe participen más de 100 proyectos de editoras consolidadas y estudios de juegos independientes de renombre. Entre los participantes confirmados hasta ahora figuran Dotemu, Raw Fury, Devolver Digital y docenas más de toda Europa.
